On the rugged northeasterly coast of Lanzarote you will find Arrieta. Its main beach is called La Garita. It isalmost one kilometre in length and is sheltered by thestrong winds that prevail within this area. The main path in which you enter the beach has a small and cosy terrace serving snacks and dishes. This beach is equipped with showers and changing rooms. The beach is safe however we must be very careful when bathing with children as occasionally waves can reach between half a metre and a metre in height.

On the northern border of La Garita there is a bather’spier which is linked by bridge to the centre of the village. This is an ideal alternative in the summer when the beaches are packed with bathers. When there is a gentle breeze the river is an ideal bathing spot due to its mild climate. The heat is not so dry thanks to the permanentand soft trade winds that accompany it. The beaches amenities include a volleyball court and a children´s playground within its vicinity. This is family friendly beach.
