When entering the northern town of Órzola you will come across a set of coves known as Los Caletones. Due to its location it was not effected so much by the volcanic debris from the volcano “Volcán de la Corona however effected the small neighbouring village of Yé. Its pleasant climate are those when there is little wind, this makes Los Caletones a quiet pool area.

The proximity of Roque del Este and the possible sighting of Alegranza (islotes del Archipiélago Chinijo) together form miles of sandy beach boasting a wonderful landscape and creating the ideal postcard. In the midst of all the fine sand you will also come across some greenery.

Los Caletones, Lanzarote

The sea on this coast of Lanzarote has created between its coastal rocks varying bathing areas all being shallow in depth. Within this area there are some natural stones that allow you to rest upon sheltering you from the constant prevailing wind of Órzola.

You can reach Los Caletones by car. There are several authorised parking areas within the vicinity. If visiting with children it is important that you find a rock free zone so that it is possible for them to play games.

What to do before or after:

Enjoy a coffee or a soft drink in Mirador del Rio. Here you can enjoy the magnificent and spectacular view of Archipiélago Chinijo. Los Caletones is within walking distance to the small village of Órzola, sprinkled with fine restaurants specialising in fresh fish. A valid option is La Perla del Atlantico. On the northern coastal route you have many beach options and why not before or after visit the famous Jameos Del Agua.
