One of the best ways of knowing, in all its breadth, the majesty of nature reserve Archipelago Chinijo. A group of islands and rocks to little more than a mile northwest of Lanzarote nautical formed by the Graciosa (the only inhabited), Alegranza, Montana Clara and the Iroquois of the East and West. The sea route offers a journey through the main points of interest, such as Alegranza, en-suite in its suggestive jameo, Montaña Clara and the beaches of La Graciosa (Las Conchas, La Cocina and French). The tour, the trip culminated sea, is complemented by a walk of about half an hour the south side of La Graciosa or kayaking trip on the river that separates the island of Lanzarote. The raid on the place of Chinijo attractive in itself, has an exquisite added: professionalism and dynamism of its director, Carmen Portella, who manages to put the visitors in front of the perfectly natural spectacle to be found. A warning to the reader: the first hour boat trip is bit moved.
A ship with capacity for 150 people waiting for us at the port of Órzola. The tour has a maximum of 30, so we gain space and comfort. An experienced crew welcomes us and the coordinator, Portella, transfers the first information useful for the journey is about to begin. From the first section provides an irresistible scenario that we will cross. The slopes of Órzola cliff, one of many fishing villages on the island, set themselves up as guides to the first point of interest: Punta Fariones, the river that separates La Graciosa and Lanzarote the sympathetic latter's southeast coast. Far away on the horizon, look Alegranza. At any time your sighting, from the distance, makes one suspect the explosion of colors and fanciful shapes that give life to this island and that we will see shortly. There is still a busy part of the voyage. Watch the sea. At any time, colonies of flying fish, tuna or peces hammers can accompany us.
As we approach the south face of Alegranza, we realize its full dimension. In nothing were the lofty words about its mysterious figure. Those with whom, friends and family with more success, encouraged us to go to the border. Is clear: it is one thing you and have quite another, is to attend only ten meters from its geography to a range of natural beauty unclassifiable. From the outset, it is disturbing the sound that emanates from this island of just 10 square kilometers. The closest the world's largest cry: silence. The hitherto boisterous troop moves hiker becomes assistant to a magnificent spectacle. In particular, we are struck by the singular figure of Mountain Los Lobos. A crest halved allowing losing sight into the bowels of a volcano. It resembles the scenario of Timanfaya. Quite striking is also mountain Rapadura, like other landscape known as theCharco geological part of the click and the Gulf. A small shearwater is the only living creature that welcomes us in the cozy Muellito of Punta Delgada, with the enigmatic and ancient lighthouse Alegranza.
The route, until then southeast to northwest, changes dramatically. Sea currents are more favorable and back are the vagaries of the boat. On the boat there's plenty of room to watch comfortably environmental scenario. We continued along the south and run into a giant and majestic natural jameo beach included, where our first stop. According to the movement of water can go swimming or to the auxiliary zodiac boat. Also may not enter through the heavy swell. A dip in the creek sublime we adjusted the body, after all previous motion. Back to the ship proceed to travel to the west side of Alegranza. The boat slows progress. The sight of this zone, commonly known as the Cathedral, back to catch us. The 100 meters high, the capricious lamineo its terrain, the endless range of colors, are characterized by cross-roads in the annual pilgrimage shearwaterashen faced in this straight cliff the perfect place to nest. No wonder, then, we agree with them or with dozens of elegant flight of other species typical of Alegranza, El Guincho.
Montaña Clara and the beaches of La Graciosa
With the impression stuck in the abandoned body Alegranza. As we headed north to the direction of Clara Mountain looking south, we see that the path chosen by the boat Romero Linesis not by chance. From the north receives a perfect overview of its huge caldera of one kilometer in diameter. Of soft pale yellow, the island completely barren, it is extremely beautiful. On its western side, the apparent uniformity becomes new contrasts. The terrain is outlined, offering curious geological formations, and the range of colors that presides over their gorgeous figure. When surrounded by the south side, we glimpse the best beach of La Graciosa. Las Conchas, north of the island is a beautiful stretch of 600 meters bath and a flowing extension width. Your jable seems a perfect carpet that contrasts magically reddish Red Mountain. From now sail close to the coast of La Graciosa. Creek bordering its north and west to reach another highlight: Yellow Mountain and the beach La Cocina. This strip is one of the most desired by those visiting La Graciosa. Sheltered from the winds, others for its spectacular, featuring the cleanliness of its seabed.
Sports and adventure in La Graciosa
In less than five minutes from Yellow Mountain also reach the beautiful crystal clear waters of French beach. Drop anchor about 200 meters. A perfect distance to cover to swim. At this point two possibilities open to adventurous nature. Walk to Caleta del Sebo, capital of La Graciosa, town throughout the year, or to cover this distance in a kayak. Either choice is good, although we find it more attractive transit stroke to stroke, across the river that separates Lanzarote and La Graciosa, with the imposing cliff of Famara offering shelter. The reversal by foot or small boat is the same, just half an hour.
On reaching the village you can enjoy the curious architecture. Its natural jable streets, the hidden and sport fishing dock, and, of course, the unique personality of Graciosero. The prevailing parsimony is transferred to hikers. It is 14:30 pm. After so much busy boat, nothing better to satisfy the palate with traditional food products. White wine is tasted parboiled gofio aided by the thin layers of onion and a fresh fish dish accompanied by the successful potatoes with a rich sauce Canarian mojo sauce.
After coffee, regular ship lines Romero moved to the whole group back to Lanzarote.
