Right at the entrance you are enveloped in a pleasant aroma of infusion, coffee and tea. This perfume emanates from the very complete herbolarium that is the main lung of the varied and delicious coffee and tea service of Hespérides. The rooms of Casa León, a traditional Canary building, and the jazz chords that sprout from the musical lines accompany you while you enjoy some green mate, Italian cappuccino or papaya or lime white tea. You can have it in the smoking or non-smoking areas in the cozy rooms or in the inside patio of the house or sample it in the cobblestone-paved street of León y Castillo in the old part of La Villa village.
The raw materials are of the finest quality, to which the indispensable care in its preparation is added. A careful hand in treating the coffee can be felt. The macchiato, the cappuccino or the latte mingle with the mixtures of milk foam, soy drink, cinnamon and vegetable creams. It is not the same, it is different. Equally different and suggestive is the tea menu. Black, red, green, blue, white, yellow, fruit, herb teas. More than one hundred varieties. The difficulty lies in making your choice. Black taj mahal? Maybe Pakistani? Or China jasmine? I know, vanilla and lavender white. No, better still yellow huang da cha. Or wouldn’t green toasted mate be better? No Turkish apple tea. No, cannabis, definitely cannabis. But, is there a piña colada tea? Yes, definitely a large selection. If you are not careful you’ll make yourself dizzy during the selection process.

The cafeteria complements its offer with a breakfast, luncheon or dinner option. Juices, gazpacho and a drink made with tiger nuts called horchata de chufas. Canapés or montaditos, croissants and snacks. Natural gazpacho. Some pastries with Canarian yogurt, apple and chocolate pies. Savor a liquor or a white wine, or sip on a glass of red.

Hespérides stands out because it is the only organic restaurant in Lanzarote. Organic and vegetarian products are found in their tapas, salads, rice and in their specialty dishes. The atmosphere is very pleasant. The service is outstanding and quick. The prices, both of coffee and tea, as well as in the organic restaurant, are very reasonable. Definitely, an attractive place that has taken the risk of doing something different in Teguise and Lanzarote. Hespérideshas just celebrated its first year. Live long and prosper.
What to do before and after: A walk through the historic area of La Villa. Lunch or dinner in Íkarus. Link a cultural visit to Spínola Palace or the Museum of the Emigrant. A few kilometers away, in Nazaret, you can check out La Cueva, which is the ideal after-dinner spot. Teguise is located in the center of the island, so we can go by car to Costa Teguise or Arrecife if we want some night life.
