This kind of massage is, above all, extremely pleasurable. But, it also has numerous physical and psychic benefits. Among others, it favors the relief of tensions and migraine. Besides, it helps overcome insomnia. The session begins with a light heating of the upper area of the pectoral muscles, the clavicles, shoulders and cervical vertebrae. Lavender, rosemary or chamomile oil is usually used for its refreshing effect. After the heating, the head is bent to one side, and soft pressure is applied to certain points of the shoulder and each of the cervical vertebrae, going on to the apophasis of the vertebrae. Hindu philosophy calls these points chakra or energetic centers. The massage provides a sensation of pleasure that grows by the minute. Breathing becomes softer in time, and the body sinks deeper into the bed while the relaxing music fills the air in a profoundly relaxing atmosphere. The upper dorsal and cervical areas receive special attention at this stage, which translates, above all in the pressure on the vertebrae, into an increased sense of wellbeing.

The oil, managed by the soft fingers of the expert, travels towards the head. Especially in the occipital and temporal bones, where the sense of balance is centered. As we breathe in, we start seeing bright intense yellow-red-orange colors taking over our unconscious and elevating us to a sensation of uttermost comfort. After the head, the face comes next. The jaws, eyebrows, nose, and forehead are slightly manipulated. At each point of the eyebrow, consecutively, you feel a pulsating finger. Your face feels like it’s deflating. The effect is like anesthesia without a needle, without pain, you are sunken, relieved from tensions, feeling an unknown sensation: “Wow, definitely, God exists!”, the atheist would end up telling himself.

That’s how you are going to feel. Five minutes of celestial rest with a stream and birds chirping in the background.

Ayurveda is a traditional medicine recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO). In Sanskrit (a classic language of India), Ayurveda means knowledge of life. It is a holistic practice that considers the person in his/her totality: mind, body and spirit are united and exert direct reciprocal effects. Generally, before any Ayurveda session, a simple evaluation of the person about to receive it is made to verify his/her dosha, meaning his/her energy or mood. In the Ayurvedic science there are three types of dosha, and depending on which is the most predominant, different types of oil and massage techniques will be used.

At the beginning of the massage, the chakras (energetic centers) of your body are activated. Relaxed, and lying face up, you receive pressure on the navel (Nabhi), heart (Hridaya) and between the eyebrows or third eye (Staphani). Right from the start, the feeling provided by the contact with the oil and the finger and hand pressure by the therapist is very soothing. The movements in this first phase include slight internal pressures and the manipulation of the areas surrounding the three points mentioned earlier. Once the energetic centers are put in action, the attention is concentrated on the feet. They receive pressure on the four main points and the whole area of the soles is massaged, with a good dose of oil. At times, you perceive some reaction on other parts of the body (elbow and shoulder), especially when the center of the foot is pressed. The dynamics of the treatment are then extended along the legs and arms. The feeling after the manipulation of the abdomen, sternum and heart deserve special mention. The relaxing atmosphere of these centers in Lanzarote helps to let go while laying on the bed, letting your breathing slow down and indulging in a maximum sense of wellbeing.

Face down; the therapist works on the calf muscles and femoral biceps. During the whole process there is a treatment of pressures with horizontal and vertical movements on the muscles. After the legs, the attention shifts to the back, especially the lumbar and cervical areas, which are carefully massaged with special oils in preparation.

After a new position change, that is, face up, the chakras are reactivated, but with a more relaxing pressure on the navel, plexus, heart and between the eyebrows. The session culminates with a relaxing head and face massage. The eyebrows, forehead, jaws, certain points of the nose, the temporal and occipital bones receive an ample rubbing while pressure is applied on different points. After one hour, an extreme feeling of relaxation engulfs your body. Something like general anesthesia without any pain. You’ll feel like new. Visiting the Spa at the Arrecife Gran Hotel you’ll be offered a complimentary tea after the massage..

During a hot-stone session, the therapist places the stones at about 140°F [60° C] on several places like the spine, abdomen, hands, and among other spots, the toes. Normally, the therapist begins by placing some stones on key points of the spine, while he/she begins a soft massage with hot oil on the lower limbs. Once the legs have been manipulated, the massage is applied with the hot stones, providing a pleasant sensation. The rhythm change can be felt; the heat penetrates in the muscles, relaxing them. The operation is repeated on the back, on the front of the legs, and the hot stone massage concludes on the cervical area of the spine, the neck. A pampering of the body with which all the excess tension and stress disappear.

Instant comfort and relaxation. Since the therapist begins to move on water, water waves generated by an unsurpassed state of placidity. Watsu is the first form of bodywork in the water. Was developed in the early eighties of last century, when Harold Dull as applied to students of Shiatsu in the warm pool of Harbin Hot Springs. Over the years, this technique has been refined. Based on the touch, connection and trust NZA with the masseuse, stands in a deeply relaxing aquatic therapy.

Its essence is determined by movements in the water, while we’re cradled in the arms of the therapist, acupuncture points and massage oriental shiatsu. In a sense, back in time. Therefore, we have not yet seen the light. Yes, it is the closest thing to our movements in the womb. It confirms the warning of Stef: The key is the waves generated by the twists and turns in the water. They make a sublime feeling. For very ctive I was, I was, I went immediately to an optimal state of relaxation. Help, and how the sound in the water. A permanent light and pleasant breeze that accompanied me throughout the session promoting welfare.

With the exception of the face, the rest of the body is immersed in water. The movements are combined with gentle stretching. However, the perception is that our joints never enjoyed such a good flexibility. The arms and neck have left in oblivion its usual rigidity, gaining full. The water attenuates the weight of the vertebrae, allowing the spine to open and move freely without the usual restrictions produced by gravity and muscular tension. O ORT notable physical benefit comes from muscle stretching, which helps increase blood circulation. Taken together, the healing benefits Watsu is facing problems of stress, insomnia, lack of energy, muscular, skeletal and joint pain, migraine and tension. Reports in paragraph psychic calm and conducive to positive energy.

Seem to float rather than fly. A light flight in cribs and chairs that give us the masseuse. After the gentle stretching of the arms and neck, cradling us in a fetal position while repeatedly, extend and flex our legs grouped. A deep discharge relieves the heaviness of the lower extremities. This part of the session ends with an acupressure in the lumbar region of your back. Are small stitches, applied consecutively, which mitigate tension so characteristic of the tailbone.

With water at 34 °, the therapist we dive into the pool. Previously we have provided a tool to block the nostrils and mouth breathing. Watsu underwater causes as produce the dive, an idyllic feeling. In a few seconds, our state of relaxation is increased significantly. A super-duper stoned, go. Too bad for me because a little water came in through the nose, lasted so little. The dynamics under water is similar. Small movements that will bring you water waves and these, in turn, will affect our rest. However, in my comments, Stef told me that I still have not fully explored and that this form constitutes a world apart.

I face the final stretch of the session. Some recent movements slower and more pleasurable, I returned to the starting position. The wonderful side dish spa Hesperia Puerto Calero, with the front steps to it. Upright, his neck secured to the top of the pool, I feel that I can spend hours in this position. Sereno, fully composed.

Avoid being sick or stressed to enjoy the relaxation provided by the Watsu. No need to know how to swim. The therapy is especially recommended for pregnant women, fostering a deep connection between mother and child, being in the same aquatic environment. Is contraindicated in persons who suffer ear infections, decompensated heart failure and acute psychiatric illness (including psychosis).

Where to shop Watsu session in Lanzarote?

It is an anti-aging treatment. With eminently rejuvenating, its implementation is a good toning and hydration therapy. Ideal for improving the health of the circulatory system, is excellent, among other properties, as an antioxidant. The skin is housed in the great beneficiary of vinotherapy. Be important for the physical benefits, the method characterized by very relaxing condition constituting a good cure for stress.

The treatment is divided into two phases. In the first, about an hour, is devoted to a body scrub. This is done through an exfoliating product containing particles of drag, thus promoting the elimination of dead cells of the superficial layer of the skin. The elimination of these dead cells involves the total renovation of our skin. After a quick shower we proceed to the strict wine therapy, massage is very gentle whole body with a product made saugvinon varieties Cabernet and Chardonnay.

The peel is composed of red vine vegetable oil Peita grape. Except the face is applied throughout the body. Strange texture on the skin. It’s cool, but something is perceived sandstone. It leverages its application combining with relaxing massage techniques. The therapist vary their movements in a circular, longitudinal and transverse. So there is not a gap to be filled, while the product penetrates the pores of the skin. Particularly relaxing is the shift of the hand s by the neck and back, but it is sublime massaging the soles of the feet and stomach. As concluded by the application of all the skin peeling, wrap it in plastic for five relaxing minutes we can take a little nap. In this way the red grape concentrate, ensuring the benefits of their practice. A gentle warm shower clean our skin and we were prepared to vinotherapy.

Upside down again, the therapist begins the massage with saugvinon varieties Cabernet and Chardonnay in the back. From the first contact we see the beneficial effects of peeling. Indeed, our skin has been cleansed of impurities. It seems silk. As with any relaxation therapy, body temperature is increasing, while the lower your pulse rate. Again, highlights the transition from the wise hands of the soles of the feet and stomach. With e special incidence in the latter area, give us a complete sense of relaxation. In sum, the state of stillness and well-being are insurmountable.

Benefits

It is arguable that the combination of peeling back massage renews your skin. In a sense we release a new, because, after peeling, assimilated much better the properties of wine. Among other contains procyanidins, polyphenols, vitamins and polyunsaturated acids. To give some examples, the grapes are rich in vitamins A, C, B1, B2, K, Fe, copper and manganese. These minerals are suitable for the detoxification of the skin and the prevention of anemia.
