A meeting of the artistic disciplines of Lanzarote and the Canaries, in all its manifestations.

The interiors of the Castle of Santa Bárbara (Guanapay Mountain, Teguise) became the ethnographic museum with the aim of showing the emigrant past of the Canarian people. The old fortress, built in the 16th century by Sancho de Herrera was very important in defending the island from the constant invasions by pirates and corsairs. The seven halls of the museum reflect the double sided nature, in the best of cases, of the migratory phenomenon.
It was created in 1975 under the supervision of Lanzarote’s artist César Manrique. It carries out programs of exhibits and activities.
