MAP OF LOCATION:
Bodegas Stratvs provides an interesting cultural offer that covers the whole process of wine making. From the arrival and selection of the grapes that will make the malvasia dessert wine and red wine, the maceration and fermentation phase, the aging process up to the final bottling. The visit begins with an explanation showing the twines of a grapevine outside this warehouse in La Geria’s natural space. It is surprising that this arid land can produce the annual fruit of August. Having seen the birthplace of wine, you then go on to the room where the grapes are selected, and then stored at a low temperature. The preliminary period of production of the wine ends with the introduction to
Bodegas Stratvs.
This huge infrastructure of natural stone and wood is worth seeing just for itself. The inside is very well organized, with ultramodern machinery and the whole enological path of wine production. The reservoirs and presses that will be used to macerate the grapes, and the barrels and bottling machines all work separately but in perfect coordination to obtain the best wine possible. The visit is conducted by a specialized guide in Spanish, English and German. The guide details the peculiarities of each of the mentioned stages. The cultural-scientific tour is done in approximately half an hour thanks to the didactic explanations, with the essential technicalities about the subject, although they are clearly explained, and most importantly, without an overdose of information.
The visit includes a more recreational and contemplative part. The convention hall is striking, as much as the day and night restaurants on the premises, with different perspectives and views of the spectacular landscape of La Geria. Bodegas Stratvs includes the gourmet shop, with a selection of waters, spices, cheeses and different culinary delicacies, apart from, of course, the young wines from their French oak barrels.
The visit ends with some wine tasting in a corner of the gourmet store. In our case, it’s a sparkling semi-sweet Diego wine. Outside, you can savor the wine in some nooks with modern furniture, while watching the explosions of colors of nature.
