With rock and roll as their foundation, this huge nightlife attraction in Arrecife opened its doors in 2000. Its promoter, Semi Gil, has known how to conjure the essence of the pub with its good music and its goal to be an outlet for creativity in Lanzarote. With this goal in mind, the rock music mixes harmoniously with photo and picture exhibits that cover the walls. With modern decoration and lighting, El Tsunami has managed to capture the attention of rock and rollers in Lanzarote.
The atmosphere in El Tsunami, contrary to what its name suggests, is actually calm and pleasant in the early hours of the evening in Arrecife. It’s a comfortable place to start the night, at the long bar or on the comfortable sofas around the dance floor. But, as the hours pass, a mass of people thirsty for rock and roll pack the bar up to the rafters. This success is repeated every Friday and Saturday, which are the biggest nights for this pub.
Semi doesn’t slip up with the price of the drinks either. The prices are accessible for the beer-drinking public. Beer costs between € 2 and € 2.50, and the mixed drinks cost between € 4 and € 5. As well as rock and roll, El Tsunami is open to other musical genres: you can hear current and old classics from the world of pop, heavy metal, and rock as well as disco. The music is accompanied by the images from the crazy DVDs that Gil plays on the huge TV screen.
