La Cocina Beach is located on the island la Graciosa at the foot of Montaña Amarilla (Yellow Mountain) of 172 metres hight.
This small mountain has a striking beauty due to its prominent geographical formations and its varying colours.
The yellowness stands out immensely and the reddish-brown plantation gives it a poker dot effect giving it a magical aura.
At the root of this cove and at just 50 metres long you will find a fine sandy beach joined with an unbeatable turquoise and green sea, a must to take a dip.
La Cocina Beach is sheltered from the rivers strong current that separates the northwest coast of Lanzarote from the southern stretch of La Graciosa.
This cove is accessible by foot or bicycle and takes approximately one hour and 25 minutes from Caleta del Sebo which is the capital of this archipelago island Chinijo.
This unique island is a haven of serenity and contemplation.
La Cocina Beach faces towards the entire northwest coast of Lanzarote. From here the view is magnificent.
On a clear day it is possible to see through the centre of the island by following the route between the bays of Tiagua, Soo and Tao.
Thanks to the sea the shores edge is constantly being stirred allowing the water to remain exquistitly clean.
As this cove is extremely isolated it can get really hot. You should therefore constantly keep yourself hydrated. Bring enough water with you.
Shaded areas can be found just below the base of the mountain.
In some areas you will find some natural stoned coves that are ideal spots to place a towel and umbrella for that extra bit of shelter.
Seagulls and butterflies often are the only companions during your day here by the sea.
About ten minutes away from La Cocina Beach you will reach one of the best beaches of La Graciosa, La Francesa Beach.
At La Francesa Beach, due to it’s orientation, enteres more wind and therefore it doesn’t feel as hot as in La Cocina Beach.
