Fifty micro-enterprises on the island have already benefited from the “Digitalization, Sustainability and Innovation of Lanzarote Companies” project, promoted by the Confederación Empresarial de Lanzarote (CEL) with the collaboration of the Lanzarote Cabildo, as an example of public-private cooperation. This initiative aims to provide the island’s business fabric with digital, sustainable, and innovative tools to enhance its competitiveness.
Free diagnostics and support
The president of CEL, Beatriz Salazar, explained that the project offers a completely free personalized diagnosis that evaluates each company’s level of digitalization and sustainability. Based on this analysis, businesses receive an action plan with measures such as creating websites, online stores, social media profiles, search engine optimization (SEO), or obtaining a digital certificate.
The program also provides advice on available subsidies and grants, such as the Digital Kit, to boost digital and sustainable transformation.
Promoting innovation and sustainability
The project focuses especially on self-employed workers and SMEs on the island, helping them improve their presence in the digital environment, adapt to new management methods, and strengthen their competitiveness in the short and medium term. “The aim is to equip them with the tools and knowledge to position themselves and compete in an increasingly demanding digital market,” said Salazar.
The president stressed that this is a continuous process that will shape the future of the island’s business network: “We are working with public and private entities to jointly promote the necessary tools for companies to grow and adapt.”
