Variety of coffees and teas. Good atmosphere. LOCATION: Playa Blanca Shopping Center. Calle Timanfaya, 4, Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote. HOURS: Every day from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
MAP OF LOCATION:
One of the cafeterias with the greatest variety in Lanzarote. The variety is also found in its sister cafés in the Deiland Plaza of Playa Honda and the southern exit of Arrecife (on José Antonio street). The former Plantaciones, today renamed Los Clásicos del Café, honors its name and goes further than simple coffee or tea. It plays very successfully with cream, cacao, condensed milk and, among others, ice cream, in combination with liquors like whisky, cognac, hot rum, Frangelico or anise. For example we find the yummy Tropicana coffee made with frozen coffee, cream and cocoa, the Swiss chocolate coffee, cream and cocoa or the frapuccino coffee made with cold cappuccino and vanilla ice cream.
Los Clásicos del Café extends its products to a varied tea selection, prepared in the classic way, frozen or frappe. Green, red, white, black tea. Decaf or semi-fermented tea. Aromatic teas or, among other varieties, the indulgence of ice tea, cold Ceylon tea, and fresh mint. Besides, it completes its offerings with buns and cakes, sandwiches and croissants, natural juices, shakes and frappes. Therefore it is also a good place to have breakfast or a substantial snack.
Located in the Playa Blanca Shopping Center, very near the beaches of Puerto del Carmen and the the avenue of restaurants along the beaches and El Varadero, Los Clásicos del Café is an ideal place for before or after bathing in the sea, having lunch at the Fariones Sports Center or having fresh fish at Puerto del Carmen. The atmosphere, with the exception of one of its terraces, which is over a very busy street, is very quiet. It is ideal to chat in its spacious indoor room (see picture at lower left) or in the cool terrace that communicates with the interior of Playa Blanca Shopping Center.
An important fact for smokers: smoking is only allowed in the two terraces. And here the furniture is not very adequate, with very small and rather low chairs and tables. The place in general is well maintained, with its well achieved mix of rustic appearance, decorated with tiles on the walls and where wood constitutes a crucial element at Los Clásicos del Café.
What to do before and after: A walk along the avenue of Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen. A short distance separates us from El Varadero, the area where La Tiñosa was born. Fariones Sports Center is a step away. To eat, Bodega.
