About Ocio Lanzarote

OcioLanzarote.com was born in 2008 to meet a need: providing up-to-date and useful information for both visitors and residents of the island.

At that time, local websites tended to fall into two categories: news sites —focused mainly on politics and current affairs— and tourism portals aimed almost exclusively at selling products or services to visitors.

Ocio Lanzarote offered a fresh approach by creating a channel for everyone. A space where residents could rediscover their own island, and where visitors could connect with local life beyond the standard holiday experience.

Our mission has always been twofold: to encourage residents to explore their island as if they were tourists, and to bring visitors closer to our culture and identity, so they can experience Lanzarote like a true local.
