The solitary donkey who welcomes you in the Las Pardelas Natural Park deceives those present. It looks like a place lost in the American Wild West. However, inside, the work of Carlos Dizv radiates love and tenderness toward the animal world in relation to youngsters. And that is because for children, a walk through the small natural area means learning, enjoyment and fun, surrounded by goats, donkeys, sheep and rabbits, as well as peacocks, pigs, horses and the funny and talkative Bruno, the talking parrot of Las Pardelas.
The house offers children, and the not-so-young ones, a bag with complimentary food for the animals. Lettuce and other produce make up that extra, which sheep and goats will gladly eat from the hands of little ones, although you can be sure that horses and pigs will not turn their snouts away either! The sensation is fantastic for kids and the animals will gladly follow them everywhere.
In this sense, Las Pardelas undertakes an intense pedagogical activity throughout the year with 5 to 16-year-old kids. Camps or festivities like birthday parties in this natural environment with tons of recreational and sports games, contact with animals and plants, the practice of trail hiking in the spectacular setting of the north of Lanzarote, learning ceramic-pottery techniques and workshops on how to make the local toasted wheat flour called gofio comprise the educational offering.
The natural park complements its facilities with a large area dedicated to the endemic plants of Lanzarote. Tabaiba, veroles and lavenders, tajinastes and other species adapted to the conditions of the north of the island coexist with the animals. Las Pardelas also has large children’s playgrounds which, along with a small cafeteria, make the visit interesting for the youngsters while their parents having some coffee or a tapa. The price of the visit is very affordable for the combination of experiences offered by this entertainment infrastructure.

How to complete the day?:
In the neighboring village of Guinate is the Guinate Tropical Park. In Órzola, Arrieta and Punta Mujeres, about 15 minutes by car, it’s possible to have some good fresh fish. A cup of coffee with the spectacular views of the Chinijo Archipielago tastes different at Mirador del Río. A visit to Cueva de los Verdes or Jameos del Agua, about 15 minutes away by car, is a gratifying activity for kids… and those who aren’t kids anymore.
