Karting for children

The practice of karting has been possible in Lanzarote since the mid nineties when two private initiatives in San Bartolomé and Puerto del Carmen made it possible almost simultaneously. The kart, according to the Wikipedia definition, is a one-seat land vehicle without a roof or cockpit, without suspension, with or without body elements. It has four non-aligned wheels that remain in contact with the ground. The two front tires control steering, while the rear tires transmit the engine power of the one-cylinder vehicle. Additionally, karts are controlled by two pedals: the brake and the accelerator.

Karting for kids, Lanzarote

Karting is a fun sport for everyone, but the level of fun increases with the younger ones. In addition to the fun, children learn some very useful tools that will come in handy when the time comes for them to learn to drive a car. They will learn that it is very important to understand the rules of responsible driving and that evasive and sports driving can only be done in special facilities. The two karting centers on the island offer different types of vehicles. One of them is the kart with a top speed of 22 miles [35 kilometers] an hour for the younger ones.
