The Lanzarote International Running Challenge 2025 returns from November 23 to 26, 2025, bringing four days of races, community and stunning scenery. Organized by Club La Santa, it is one of Europe’s most popular autumn running festivals, attracting hundreds of athletes from across the continent.

Update pending: Some 2025 schedules and exact distances may change once the organiser releases the final programme. We’ll update this guide as soon as new information becomes official.

What is the Lanzarote International Running Challenge?

The Challenge is a four-stage race series across four days, each stage with a different terrain and feel. More than a competition, it’s a running experience through volcanic landscapes, coastal roads and beach sections.

The weekend begins with the festive Club La Santa Night Run on November 22. You can read our full guide here: Club La Santa Night Run 2025 – full guide.

The four stages of the Running Challenge

According to the organiser, the Challenge traditionally consists of these four races:

1) 10K Road Race – Nov 23

  • Fast, flat asphalt route starting and finishing at Club La Santa.
  • Ideal for strong pacing and fast times.

2) Ridge Run (~13K Trail) – Nov 24

  • Off-road volcanic terrain with ridge sections and panoramic views.
  • The most trail-oriented stage of the week.

3) Beach Run (~5K) – Nov 25

  • Held on Los Pocillos beach, Puerto del Carmen.
  • Mix of firm shoreline sand and softer mid-beach sections.

4) La Santa Circuit Run (~5K Multi-surface) – Nov 26

  • Final stage around the La Santa lagoon and resort.
  • Combination of asphalt, paths and promenade.

Who is it for?

The Running Challenge suits a wide range of athletes:

  • Recreational runners: wanting varied, scenic stages without pressure.
  • Clubs & teams: many arrive from the UK, Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands.
  • Active holidaymakers: combining sport, sunshine and travel.

You can do all four stages or just the ones that fit your level.
