Solar and Wind Grants in Lanzarote: 500,000 Euros Available
Installing solar panels at home just got cheaper in Lanzarote. The Cabildo has activated 500,000 euros in grants for solar and wind self-consumption projects across Lanzarote and La Graciosa, with applications open until September 21. The aid covers up to 50 percent of installation costs, capped at 3,000 euros per project.

The call covers installations carried out from October 11, 2025 onward, in buildings either connected to or isolated from the grid, and is structured in three categories for systems under 10 kilowatts. The scoring system gives priority to primary residences, new installations, large families, and low-income applicants.
Demand that outstrips the budget
Previous years explain why it pays not to leave the application until the last minute. In 2024, the initial 500,000-euro budget had to be expanded past 800,000 euros in response to public demand: 346 applications and 283 final beneficiaries. In 2025 there were 205 applications and 157 beneficiaries. Across both editions, the island added more than 2,200 kilowatts of installed renewable capacity, much of it on residential rooftops.
“These grants substantially ease the initial investment, which translates into significant savings over the medium and long term,” said Energy councilor Miguel Ángel Jiménez. Cabildo president Oswaldo Betancort framed the program as part of the drive toward “a more sustainable energy model,” cutting emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.
How to apply
The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa manages the process as collaborating entity: applications can be filed through its website, camaralanzarote.org, or in person at its offices by appointment. Grants are awarded competitively, with registration order as the tiebreaker.
