At Papagayo you’ll find some of the most beautiful beaches in Lanzarote. This is one of the island’s most inviting swimming areas, with fine golden sand and shimmering turquoise water.

The coast stretches nearly two kilometers, home to several small coves: Playa Mujeres, El Pozo, Caleta del Congrio, Puerto Muelas, and Papagayo itself. Its proximity to Playa Blanca means you can reach it in just five minutes by car from most hotels.

You can also arrive by catamaran from Puerto Calero. If you love the sea and adventure, the Catamaran Excursion to Papagayo is a must — combining a feeling of freedom, luxury, and the best views of Lanzarote’s southeast coast.

This stretch of coastline is difficult to access by land, making it even more special from the sea. In short, Papagayo is a paradise that you simply can’t miss during your stay on the island.

The waters of Papagayo are exceptionally clear, with deep turquoise hues that give them a Caribbean feel. Facing Lobos Islet and Fuerteventura, the panoramic view is breathtaking.

Thanks to the excellent climate of southern Lanzarote, the sea is usually calm with little wind and constant sunshine. The coves’ ample space makes them ideal for families, beach games, or simply relaxing with a book. Silence and the gentle murmur of waves create the perfect atmosphere for rest and contemplation.

Framed by the volcanic cliffs of Los Ajaches, the beaches are separated by small rocky points, forming intimate hidden coves. During summer, Papagayo can get busy, but its size keeps it peaceful. In the rest of the year, you’ll often find yourself alone in this true natural haven.
