What is the Lanzarote International Running Challenge?
The Challenge is a four-stage race series across four days, each stage with a different terrain and feel. More than a competition, it’s a running experience through volcanic landscapes, coastal roads and beach sections.
The weekend begins with the festive Club La Santa Night Run on November 22. You can read our full guide here: Club La Santa Night Run 2025 – full guide.
The four stages of the Running Challenge
According to the organiser, the Challenge traditionally consists of these four races:

- The most trail-oriented stage of the week.
3) Beach Run (~5K) – Nov 25
- Held on Los Pocillos beach, Puerto del Carmen.
- Mix of firm shoreline sand and softer mid-beach sections.
4) La Santa Circuit Run (~5K Multi-surface) – Nov 26
- Final stage around the La Santa lagoon and resort.
- Combination of asphalt, paths and promenade.
