Practical tips for enjoying New Year’s Eve in Lanzarote
- Arrive early: the Charco, Varadero and Plaza del Carmen areas tend to fill up from around 10:00 pm.
- Transport: for Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca, taxis or night buses are recommended to avoid overcrowded car parks.
- Family-friendly: the early hours (especially in Playa Blanca from 5:00 pm) are ideal for families with children.
- Weather: it’s usually not cold, but the wind can be strong by the sea. Bring a light jacket.
- Grapes and party favours: some municipalities hand out free grapes and party favours, but it’s worth bringing your own just in case.
