Lanzarote’s cultural agenda for October 2026 opens with the last Arrecife en Vivo concert routes and a first weekend of fiestas in Playa Blanca, Charco del Palo, El Islote and Femés. Mid-month brings El Pilar in El Cuchillo, the Palabras al Vuelo storytelling festival and the Literature Festival; on the 24th, the Ocean Lava triathlon. The month closes with Halloween and the Noche de los Finaos.

Arrecife en Vivo: the last routes (October 2, 9 and 10)

The capital’s free concerts close with two Friday routes, from 6 pm to midnight, through the old town and along the waterfront. On Friday the 2nd Gyoza, María Iskariot, Def Con Dos and Evaristo play; on Friday the 9th, Vera Fauna, O’Funk’illo, M-Clan, Adora and Gunpowder. On the morning of Saturday the 10th, Apoyamos la Cantera brings together the island’s music schools.

First weekend: Ritmos del Mundo, Charco del Palo and Femés (October 2–4)

Ritmos del Mundo fills Plaza del Carmen in Playa Blanca: dances from around the world on Friday the 2nd and music on Saturday the 3rd, from 5 pm, and on Sunday the 4th food from different countries from 11 am to 3 pm, with a parade of traditional costumes at noon. Free.

The Charco del Palo fiestas, in Haría, open on Friday the 2nd at 8 pm with Lidia con Ello. Saturday the 3rd brings a tapas and dessert contest from 2 pm and, from 8 pm, the Orquesta Informal and a jam session until midnight. On Sunday the 4th at 6 pm, Femés celebrates the Día del Rosario with Mass and a procession.

Fiestas del Aguapata in El Islote (October 2–11)

The fiestas of El Islote, in San Bartolomé, open on Friday the 2nd with the Aguapata contest at 8:30 pm and parrandas, traditional folk-music groups. The weekend of the 10th and 11th brings the donkey race, fireworks and the Pesada del Bicho, which closes the fiestas on Sunday the 11th.

El Pilar in El Cuchillo and Sabores de Tinajo (through October 12)

El Cuchillo, in Tinajo, celebrates Nuestra Señora del Pilar. On Saturday the 3rd at 8:30 pm there is a Canarian enyesque, a spread of traditional snacks, and the Entre Cuerdas night of parrandas. On Thursday the 8th at 8 pm comes Sabores de Tinajo, live cooking with local produce (limited places, bookings on 625 568 892). On Monday the 12th, a national holiday, the 6 pm Mass and procession close the fiestas.

Palabras al Vuelo: storytelling in five municipalities (October 8–18)

The 14th International Oral Storytelling Festival brings storytellers from Kenya, France, Italy and Spain to Arrecife, Tías, Yaiza, Haría and San Bartolomé. It opens on Thursday the 8th at 7 pm at the Camel Interpretation Center in Uga. On Monday the 12th, El Fondeadero in Puerto del Carmen hosts stories in English at 5 pm (ages 6 and up) and in French at 8 pm; on Saturday the 17th at noon, in Italian. Almost everything is free, with booking required for several sessions.

Literature Festival, NaturPiano and Susi Caramelo

The 4th Lanzarote Literature Festival opens on Thursday the 8th at 7:30 pm with Ray Loriga at El Almacén, in Arrecife, and continues with Berna González-Harbour (Tuesday the 20th) and Juan Gómez Bárcena (Tuesday the 27th) at 7:30 pm at El Fondeadero in Puerto del Carmen. Talks are in Spanish, free with registration on the festival website.

On Thursday the 8th at 8 pm, the Castillo de San José, one of the works of César Manrique, hosts NaturPiano, a dinner and tribute to Ludovico Einaudi. On Friday the 16th at 8 pm, comedian Susi Caramelo performs at the Jameos del Agua Auditorium as part of the International Humor Festival (ages 16 and up, in Spanish).

Ocean Lava: triathlon in Puerto del Carmen (October 24)

The 16th Ocean Lava Lanzarote starts on Saturday the 24th off Puerto del Carmen, with an Olympic distance, a short format and relays, and the finish in Plaza de las Naciones. Registration closes on October 18. Expect road closures in Puerto del Carmen that day.

Rosana at La Casa Amarilla, Arrecife (all month)

Las sAlas de Arte, by Rosana. 30 años de Lunas Rotas traces the career of the Lanzarote-born singer through videos, instruments and tour photos. Free entry through November, Monday to Saturday (Saturday mornings only).

Tips for the month

Saturday the 3rd stacks up the Vuelta Ciclista, three village fiestas and Ritmos del Mundo: if you are crossing the island, leave with time to spare.
