The Yaiza Nativity Scene 2025 will once again be one of Lanzarote’s most impressive Christmas cribs, with miniature buildings, volcanic landscapes and traditional scenes carefully arranged around the church model. Every year it attracts thousands of visitors who also enjoy a walk through Yaiza’s historic center.

Update pending: Yaiza Town Council has not yet published the official dates and opening hours for the 2025–2026 Nativity Scene. This guide will be updated as soon as the Christmas and Three Kings program for Yaiza is confirmed.

What is the Yaiza Nativity Scene 2025?

The Yaiza Nativity Scene is a large-scale crib that mixes tradition, craftsmanship and Lanzarote’s unique landscape. On a base of volcanic rock and ash you’ll find churches, farmhouses, villages, wells, mills and rural scenes alongside the classic figures of the manger.

  • Models of iconic buildings from Yaiza and other parts of the island.
  • Everyday rural scenes with farmers, shepherds and market stalls.
  • Careful lighting that highlights the church and volcanic areas.
  • Perimeter walkway so visitors can see the crib from different angles.

When and where you can visit

In previous years, the Yaiza Nativity Scene has opened in late November and remained on display until after Three Kings Day. While we wait for the official announcement, this is the most likely pattern for 2025:

  • Estimated dates: from late November 2025 until January 6, 2026.
  • Location: around the Casa de la Cultura Benito Pérez Armas in Yaiza’s historic center.
  • Typical opening hours: mornings and afternoons, closing in the early evening (to be confirmed).
  • Price: free entry.

We recommend checking Yaiza’s official channels before your visit to confirm opening hours and any special events (inauguration, guided tours, concerts, etc.).

Other must-see nativity scenes in Lanzarote

Alongside the Yaiza Nativity Scene, several municipalities create beautiful cribs every Christmas that are well worth a visit:

  • Haría Nativity Scene: traditional crib in the main square with a cozy village atmosphere.
  • Teguise Nativity Scene: models and scenes in La Villa, often combined with the Christmas market.
  • Arrecife municipal crib: nativity scene installed in a central square or public building as part of the capital’s Christmas program.
  • San Bartolomé Nativity Scene: handcrafted crib linked to the town’s holiday events.

Once the municipalities release their 2025–2026 Christmas and Three Kings programs, we’ll update this list with exact dates, locations and links to the official brochures.

Tips for visiting nativity scenes with kids

  • Go in the early afternoon: it’s easier to find parking and avoid crowds.
  • Combine the visit with a walk: in Yaiza, Haría or Teguise you can easily pair the crib with a café stop, market or stroll through the old town.
  • Respect the models: many pieces are handmade and take years of work, so remind children not to touch.
  • Check the weather: some nativity scenes are partly outdoors, so it’s worth bringing an extra layer.
