Lanzarote’s cultural agenda for September 2026 revolves around the island’s patron saint. The fiestas of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores fill Tinajo and Mancha Blanca through the first two weeks of the month, with the pilgrimage on Saturday the 12th and an island-wide holiday on Tuesday the 15th. Around them come the Feria Insular de Artesanía, the Arrecife en Vivo gala and its first Friday concert routes, the close of Los Remedios in Yaiza and the Desidia murals in Argana Baja.

Arrecife en Vivo: the gala and the Friday concerts (September 5, 18 and 25)

Arrecife en Vivo opens its 2026 edition on Saturday, September 5 with the gala, featuring Toti Sanz, 15 Feet Underground, Los Callaos, Sao and Kardomillo. On Fridays September 18 and 25 the free concert routes return to the capital’s old town and waterfront — La Recova, La Plazuela, the Charco de San Ginés and Marina Lanzarote — from 6:00 pm to midnight, with a street parade moving the crowd from stage to stage. The 18th brings Ultraligera, Repion, The Rapants and Hermana Furia; on the 25th, Chambao celebrates 25 years of «Pokito a poko» alongside Piedrafita, MFC Chicken and The Anger Price. The routes continue on the Fridays of October.

Los Dolores: the island’s biggest fiesta (through September 15)

Tinajo celebrates its patron saint fiestas through the first two weeks of the month, with the traditional card and bola canaria championships already underway. The pilgrimage to Mancha Blanca takes place on the Saturday before the feast — in 2026, Saturday, September 12 — and Tuesday the 15th, the feast of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, the Virgen de los Volcanes, is a public holiday across the island.

Feria Insular de Artesanía: 37th edition (September 10–15, Mancha Blanca)

Alongside the fiestas, Mancha Blanca hosts the 37th Feria Insular de Artesanía, the island craft fair, with more than 140 participants, all seven municipalities represented and Uruguay as guest country. This edition is dedicated to the plant-fiber hats of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, and brings back the veterans’ space «La Herencia en las manos».

Desidia: murals in Argana Baja (September 3–10)

The third Desidia mural circuit takes over the Argana Baja neighborhood of Arrecife under the theme «El aljibe. Memoria subterránea» (The cistern. Underground memory). Artists Cristina Reyes, Keeenue, Luismi Sánchez, NULO and JUIN paint the walls, with talks and workshops at CIC El Almacén and CSC Argana Baja, and a guided route through the murals on the 10th.

Los Remedios says goodbye in Yaiza (through September 9)

Yaiza closes its patron saint fiestas, which began in late August. On Tuesday the 8th, the municipality’s big day, the religious service and evening procession lead into a concert by Efecto Pasillo in Plaza de Los Remedios and fireworks. The program winds down on the 9th.

Tips for the month

On pilgrimage weekend, get to Mancha Blanca with time to spare: the parking areas fill up and the LZ-30 road crawls from mid-afternoon. The Arrecife en Vivo Fridays are free with no tickets — just show up. Municipal fiesta programs appear one or two weeks ahead on the town hall websites. Coming up in October

Arrecife en Vivo continues on Fridays October 2 and 9 and closes on Saturday the 10th with La Cantera. El Cuchillo celebrates the Fiestas del Pilar around the 12th, and the month ends with Halloween and the Noche de los Finaos, the Canarian eve of All Souls.
