Lanzarote Cultural Agenda July 2026: Events & Fiestas
July changes Lanzarote’s rhythm. June’s big month of music gives way to a month of seafaring and patron-saint fiestas: the island’s patron comes down to the square in Femés, the Virgen del Carmen is carried out to sea in half a dozen towns, jazz lands on La Graciosa, and Lava Live closes the summer in style. The Lanzarote Cultural Agenda July 2026 covers everything happening on the island this month.

July highlights
San Marcial del Rubicón — July 7 (Femés, Yaiza). The patron saint of Lanzarote and the Canaries is celebrated in the oldest fiesta in the archipelago. The main day, July 7, brings the solemn service, the procession through the streets of Femés, and the Soloists’ Encounter, after a week of build-up events.
→ The full history and how to experience it in San Marcial del Rubicón.
Fiestas del Carmen — from July 16 (island-wide). The patron saint of sailors is carried out to sea in staggered maritime processions across several weeks: La Villa de Teguise and La Graciosa around the 16th, Playa Blanca a few days later, and Puerto del Carmen at month’s end. Decorated boats, fishing flotillas, and the blessing of the waters.

Canarias Jazz & Más — July 3–25 (Lanzarote and La Graciosa). The 35th edition of the Canaries’ major jazz festival tours all eight islands. The province opens on July 3 at the Caleta del Sebo quay (La Graciosa) with Lajalada, free admission.

Lava Live Festival — July 24–25 (Arrecife). The festival closes its 2026 edition with a second weekend headlined by Juan Luis Guerra, Ana Mena, Nicky Jam, and Nathy Peluso at the Estadio Lava Live.

Tips for the month
July is high season: steady heat (28–30 °C), warm sea, and towns in full fiesta. A few practical notes:
The maritime processions are best seen from the quay — arrive early, as the seafronts fill up. Caleta del Sebo (La Graciosa) offers the most intimate version; Playa Blanca, the busiest in the south.
Book ahead for rental cars, Timanfaya, and La Graciosa excursions: July is one of the highest-demand months.
Sun protection at midday open-air events, and bring a light layer for the evening verbenas, which run late.
